What’s Really Driving Weight Gain in Perimenopause
In midlife, your body becomes more sensitive to:
Blood sugar fluctuations
Chronic stress and nervous system load
Hormonal changes
Years of restrictive dieting and all-or-nothing eating patterns
This can show up as:
Increased hunger or cravings
Loss of control around food
Energy dips and sugar crashes
Weight gain that no longer responds the way it used to
This isn’t about willpower.
It’s about physiology.
A Different Approach to Weight Gain, Cravings, and Overeating
Whether you feel:
Stuck despite doing everything “right”
Or caught in cycles of overeating and starting over
The solution is not more restriction.
I help you:
Stabilise your blood sugar and reduce cravings
Regulate your appetite and energy
Support your hormones and nervous system
Rebuild a calmer, more trusting relationship with food
From there, your body can begin to respond again.
Weight loss often becomes a side effect — not the focus.
Common midlife challenges I help with
-

Perimenopause Weight & Energy Changes
Perimenopause can disrupt appetite regulation, increase cravings and make weight changes feel harder to manag. Nutrition support can help improve energy, metabolic stability and eating consistency.
-

Insulin Resistance & Metabolic Health
Insulin resistance can increase cravings, energy crashes and weight gain around the abdomen. Targeted nutrition and lifestyle support can help improve metabolic health, appetite regulation and energy stability.
-

GLP-1 Nutrition Support
Ozempic, Mounjaro and GLP-1 medication can reduce appetite, but poor nutrition during treatment may lead to low energy, muscle loss and unsustainable habits. Nutrition support helps protect muscle mass, digestion, improve protein intake and support long-term results.
-

Emotional Eating and Overeating
Emotional eating often becomes stronger during periods of stress, exhaustion, poor sleep and chronic dieting. By addressing both eating patterns and the physiological drivers of appetite, it becomes possible to build a calmer and more balanced relationship with food.
About Karolina
I am a Registered Nutritional Therapist and Eating Psychology Coach specialising in perimenopause, metabolic health and eating behaviour.
Like many women, I spent years stuck in cycles of dieting, overeating and frustration around food. That experience led me to explore the deeper drivers of weight changes, metabolism and eating behaviour.
Today my work combines functional nutrition, metabolic health science and eating psychology. This allows me to address both the biological factors that influence weight, energy and appetite, and the behavioural patterns that shape our relationship with food.
I work with women across Surrey, including West Byfleet, Woking and Guildford.
I’ve seen nutritionists before and no one has ever been so thorough. The ongoing support has been amazing. I’ve lost the weight and have never eaten so normally before! No diets or binges, just consistent eating. Can’t recommend her enough!
